About the Role:
We’re looking for a Tech Lead - Personalization to shape the future of personalized experiences for our users. In this high-visibility, high-impact role, you will be the senior individual contributor (IC) on our ML Science team, defining and driving the personalization roadmap at Glassdoor. Your expertise in large-scale recommender systems and Generative AI will drive meaningful user engagement and retention, while prioritizing user value over addictive behaviors.
What You’ll Do:
- Design and Implement Recommender Systems: Lead the creation and optimization of personalized recommender systems at scale to improve user engagement and retention.
- Define Personalization Roadmap: Drive the personalization strategy and ensure alignment with Glassdoor’s mission and goals.
- Leverage Generative AI: Use your expertise in Generative AI to craft innovative solutions that enhance user experience in ethical ways.
- Mentorship: Mentor and guide ML scientists and engineers, cultivating a culture of rapid prototyping, cutting-edge research, and results-driven innovation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams to create seamless user experiences.
- Advocate for New Technologies: Stay updated on advancements in ML, recommender systems, and Generative AI, driving their strategic adoption at Glassdoor.
What You’ll Bring:
- Proven expertise in building large-scale production recommender systems with measurable results.
- Strong machine learning fundamentals, and experience designing scalable, maintainable solutions.
- Familiarity with deploying Generative AI solutions that prioritize ethical user outcomes.
- Passion for Ethical AI and creating positive user experiences.
- Technical leadership skills, with experience mentoring junior team members.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and familiarity with modern data platforms like Snowflake.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across teams and stakeholders.
- A creative problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Base Salary: $171,400 - $227,700
- Annual Bonus Target: 15%
